I believe that all people have a right to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. It is the responsibility of the Government to create the environment that allows individuals to be able to exercise those rights. This is inherently a trade off. Some rights are taken to allow more fundamental rights to be available to everyone The first right that government takes it that the aggression of the strong is not allowed to force the weak to give up their rights.

I believe that as a society we are becoming richer over time. It is also the government’s responsibility to create an environment where this continues to be the case. The basis of this is to support the free market with controls on monopolies.

As a consequence of becoming richer as a society, the government should provide more foundational services that make it easier for all individuals to exercise their individual rights. The most obvious example here is providing publicly maintained roads that allow easy leisure and commercial travel.
